Our Story

gold

Chef Bill’s journey in the culinary arts began when he made his way across the country from Maine to Lake Tahoe at age 19. He began working as a busboy and by chance ended up in the kitchen. Bill fell in love with cooking and French cuisine when he met his mentor Chef Jean Pierre Diognon. Chef Bill trained for years perfecting his craft and was able to open Beaujolais Bistro in 2002 with the support of his wife, Trisha, and in-laws, Jerry and Teresa Jackson.

For Chef Bill, food isn’t just about eating, it is an experience of flavor and tradition. He is connected to French cuisine as a way to express his French-Canadian heritage and feels honored to share this with the Reno community.

“I am thankful for all the people who helped make Beaujolais Bistro possible; our dedicated employees, my supportive family, the city of Reno, and most importantly, our wonderful patrons that have supported our restaurant over the last 20 years.”
